The Staffing pattern table can be found on the Industry tab on Analyst. The staffing pattern table looks at the occupations employed in an industry or the jobs that can be found in one type of business.
For example, a (simplified) staffing pattern for the industry “Hospitals” might show that 10% of jobs in the hospitals industry are occupied by surgeons, 15% by general practitioners, 20% by nurses, 5% by information technology support staff, 5% by janitors, 1% by chief executives, and so on.
Table headings
- SOC
- Description– Official Classification title of the SOC code
- Employed in Industry (Start year)– Number of people in the occupation employed by the industry you have searched in the start year of your timeframe.
- Employed in Industry (Current year)-Number of people in the occupation employed by the industry you have searched in the current data year.
- Employed in Industry (Last year)- Number of people in the occupation employed by the industry you have searched in the last year of your timeframe.
- Change- the difference between the start year and end year of your timeframe.
- % Change- the percentage change of the difference between the start year and end year of your timeframe.
- % of total jobs in the industry (current year)- the amount of jobs in that industry that are made up of that occupation.
- Median hourly earnings- Average hourly earnings of the 50th percentile of this occupation.
- Education level- The average educational level of this occupation.
